Domaine de Boischampt, created in 1642, takes full advantage of its heritage, with 15 hectares in production on a pristine terroir of blue stone soils. Under new ownership since 2018, the property is now certified organic. Fermentations are spontaneous, with no fining or filtration, and sulphites are used only at bottling.
Juliénas is nestled in the granitic foothills of the Haut Beaujolais, where steep slopes range from 20% to 45%, with poor, rocky soils. For the 2023 vintage, the grapes were hand-harvested in 15-kilo perforated crates, ensuring gentle
handling. The fruit was ripe and healthy, allowing vinication to proceed under ideal conditions. The wine was then aged in concrete vats for six months.
This sulphur-free cuvée, inspired by natural winemaking, bursts with vibrant red fruit and boasts a fine structure, thanks to whole-bunch fermentation.
